Welcome Pastor Wes James !
Harbor Church is pleased to welcome Wes James as its new Pastor. Wes and his wife Angie along with their three children have relocated to Mooresville from the Huntsville, AL area.
Wes most recently served as Pastor for Courtland Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Courtland, AL. While serving at Courtland PCA, Wes also taught middle school and coached football at Westminster Christian Academy in Huntsville, AL.
Wes is an ordained minister in the PCA and has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Georgia Southern University. Wes attended Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, MO, where he earned his Master of Divinity degree.

Plan to get plugged into a Small Group!
New groups are starting soon…be on the lookout for additional information. Here is what we have so far:
- If you are a parent or grandparent—or if you are simply interested in taking a more active role in the spiritual formation of the church’s children—consider joining us for a study of the book Parenting in the Pew. We will have two meetings to discuss the book, led by Justin and Carol Leonard. Clark and Linda Moore will host the second meeting at their home. The second date is Sunday, September 19, from 6:30 – 8 pm. Children are, of course, welcome!
- What Did You Expect? is a 10 part DVD study (filmed at a conference) from Paul Tripp which seeks to Redeem the Realities of Marriage. This Small Group will meet at Clark and Linda Moore’s home on Sunday evenings beginning August 29th and will be led by Carl Larson. Children are welcome. All are welcome to attend, whether single, engaged, newly married, or “not-newly” married. This Small Group will not meet on September 19th.
- Look for additional Small Group Fellowship schedules as meeting dates and topics of study are determined. Please consider participating in our Small Group Ministry—it’s a great way to grow spiritually, while getting to know other members of the congregation better!
CALLING ALL WOMEN! Mark you calendars and plan to attend the Annual Women’s Retreat held at Ridgehaven Conference Center. The retreat will be held October 8th through the 10th.
This year’s speaker is Sandy Currin, who serves as a Representative on the PCA’s Women’s Advisory Sub-Committee. Some of you may remember Sandy and her husband Jerry Currin from when Jerry served as one of Harbor Church’s first Interim Pastors in our early formative years.
